The SWAN 65 model was introduced as the new flagship of Nautor in 1973. Swan 65 is in many respect a remarkable piece of engineering as at the time of its launch it was the largest GRP constructed yacht in the market and because of its excellent racing history (a brand new ketch rigged Swan 65 by the name Sayula II won the first ever Whitbread Round the World Race), one of the most famous Swan models ever built. The first 65-footers were delivered to owners in 1973, and the production continued until 1989 with 41 hulls being built in total. The yacht was designed by Sparkman & Stephens which was considered the number one yacht design company at the time.
Below deck, you will find a well maintained teak interior finish throughout, original as built. This yacht offers a very good combination of ocean going practicality and comfort as the berths are relatively small and secure, but the galley and chart table areas as well as the dining area are large, well equipped and very practical.
A cut out in the bulkhead allows passing items and communication between the galley and the dining area. The U-Shaped galley is large, well ventilated and equipped with double stainless steel sink, pressure water system, water heater, top opening refrigerator and deep freeze range/oven and ample storage areas.
Sleeps 6 to 8 guests in three double cabins and a crew cabin forward. The owners stateroom in the aft is very spacious, having a double to portside and a single berth to starboard side, dressing table, cupboards and wardrobes and with WC lavatory and shower en-suite. Two upper/lower bedded cabins are forward of the saloon of which the port cabin has its own head, the starboard cabin shares the head with the crew cabin forward. Bathrooms were refitted in 2014, original Blake toilets.
The saloon is midships with U-shapes seating area and table to portside and a settee to starboard side. The galley is located to portside of the companionway and the chart table to starbord side.
Entertainment: Samsung TV in saloon, Sony Hifi, 4x speakers in saloon, 2x waterproof cockpit speakers.
Air-conditioning: Clima Veco with controls in each cabin, 9000 BTU owner’s cabin, 18000 BTU saloon, 6000 BTU each guest cabin, Eberspächer D8LC diesel heating
